George

Charles GEORGE (1833-1923), was a rancher born in Yorkshire. He arrived in Prairie Dog Creek, Sheridan, Wyoming in 1883. He had married Lou Fyffe in 1873, Colorado. In the summer of 1865, a troop of US soldiers camped along the Prairie Dog Creek, while on their way to attack Black Bear's Arapahoe village. Indian casualties included 64 warriors and several hundred ponies. The US troops then returned to Fort Laramie.
