Keillor
Thomas KEILLOR born in Skelton, Yorkshire emigrated to Nova Scotia in 1774, his wife's name was Mary Thompson. They had 5 children, they first 4 were born in Skelton. Thomas still owned property in Skelton, which was looked after by an agent. "The Keillors were men of integrity, with a good deal of combativeness in their makeup, and not noted for polished address". Their son John built a majestic Regency stone mansion, Keillor House, in the village of Dorchester, New Brunswick. [NB was divided from Nova Scotia]. It is now a museum to remember the Yorkshire settlers of the late 1700s, including the Keillor family. The garden is laid out as a Yorkshire garden would have been with a herb garden by the kitchen. There is a thriving white roes bush by the main door
